Jonathan

Jonathan is a contributor for The Horror Lounge. He was intrigued and later impassioned by horror at a very young age—after sneaking a peek at the opening to the 1990 It miniseries, he spent a considerable amount of time staring at sewers and anticipating the emergence of who he thought was Ronald McDonald. This was around the time he used a crayon to draw a door on his parents’ apartment wall in a futile attempt to contact Beetlejuice. He grew up influenced by 1980s horror, ingraining a ferocious passion for the macabre. 

While carrying a love for the older flicks, he embraces the evolution of the genre, especially as it coincides with cultural and societal changes. He enjoys reviewing and analyzing films, just as much as he enjoys watching them. George A. Romero is one of his personal heroes. He has conducted interviews with authors and reviewed films. He majored in English studies and minored in Communication studies at Western Oregon University (WOU).  

When he’s not writing—whether it be an article or other project—he’ll usually be seen jogging, sipping coffee (or tea, depending on the time of day), reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family at home on the Oregon coast.
