Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story series is all set for its 13th season, and a jaw-dropping teaser trailer was just released.
Season 12 (Delicate) ended in April of 2024, and fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting season 13, so let’s take a look at what we know about it.
Creator Ryan Murphy has already confirmed that the upcoming season will be a continuation of the story he started in season three’s Coven. This is one of the most popular seasons – as we know, not all of the seasons have been highly regarded.
Coven was set in New Orleans at Miss Robichaux’s Academy, which was basically a school for witches. We got to know the witches in training, along with the top-ranking Supreme, Fiona Goode, her daughter Cordelia, the evil Delphine LaLaurie, and many other interesting characters.
That story carried on in season eight’s Apocalypse, with many of the characters returning. As you will notice, many of those same actors and characters are retuning for American Horror Story 13.
Speaking of which, we absolutely have to talk about this cast! So many iconic American Horror Story stars are returning for the upcoming season, and some of them have been MIA for quite a while.
Sarah Paulson has appeared in nine prior seasons: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and Double Feature.
Evan Peters also starred in those same nine seasons. I am personally glad to see both of these actors will be back for lucky number 13.
Emma Roberts appeared in Coven, Freak Show, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, and Delicate.
Billie Lourd is making a return after appearing in Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, Double Feature, NYC, and Delicate.

Kathy Bates gave memorable performances in Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, and Apocalypse. Fans loved her, so it’s great that she is making a return.
Angela Bassett was in Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, and Apocalypse.
Gabourey Sadibe portrayed Queenie in Coven, Hotel, and Apocalypse, and played Regina Ross in Freak Show.
Leslie Grossman appeared in Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, Double Feature, NYC, and Delicate.
Jamie Brewer’s most memorable AHS performance was in Murder House (she played Adelaide), but she also appeared in Coven, Freak Show, and Apocalypse.
Frances Conroy has appeared in eight seasons of AHS so far: Murder House, Coven, Freak Show, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, and Double Feature. Her performance as Myrtle Snow in Coven was my personal favorite.

John Carroll Lynch’s performance as Twisty the clown in Freak Show was positively chilling, but he also performed in Hotel, Cult, and 1984.
And best of all (drum roll, please)…Jessica Lange is returning, after appearing in Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and Apocalypse. Lange added a punch to her seasons that has been sorely missed since.
Actors who are joining the cast of American Horror Story for the first time include Paul Anthony Kelly, the great John Waters, Joey Pollari, Tig Notaro, and Orlando Jones.
When does American Horror Story: 13 premiere on FX and Hulu?
The iconic series will return for its thirteenth season on Thursday, September 24. The season premiere airs on FX at 9:00 p.m. ET, or you can stream episodes on the same day on Hulu.
The season will consist of 13 half-hour long episodes, with three of those episodes airing on the first and second weeks. After that, two episodes will air each week through the finale on October 29.
