Nearly 10 years after the release of IT, the critically acclaimed remake of the 1990 miniseries based on Stephen Kings terrifying novel, the film is being given new life through the immersive shared reality venue Cosm.
For those unfamiliar with Cosm, it is the leading experimental media and immersive technology company that brings people visuals unlike any other. Their screens are presented on an 87-foot-diameter dome with 12k+ LED technology, fully immersing viewers the screen and the worlds presented on them.
Cosm has previously presented other critically acclaimed films such as The Matrix, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Now COSM is ready to elevate every shadow and push the boundaries of horror in a new presentation of the iconic horror film IT. This marks a historical milestone in the genre as the film will be the worlds first horror experience in Shared Reality.

Vice President of Business Development and Entertainment at COSM had this to say about bringing IT to a new height:
“Over the past year, we’ve seen experiential cinema in Shared Reality bring to life a fresh, exciting way for fans to interact with – and enter the worlds of – their favorite films,” she continued with “Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, Double Dream, and Little Cinema have all been incredible partners to help deliver IT as Cosm's fourth film in Shared Reality. Together, we are taking horror beyond the frame, creating an immersive experience to deliver thrills unlike anything fans have experienced before.”.
IT, Directed by Andy Muschietti with a screenplay from Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman is currently the highest grossing horror film of all time. The film's new immersive presentation comes from a partnership between Cosm, Warner Bros. Pictures, Little Cinema, New Line Cinema and Double Dream, a company founded by director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti.
Cosm has made a name for itself in immersive entertainment, and with their previous cinematic ventures being huge hits in taking audiences experiences of classic films to new levels, horror fans are excited to see how the sewers of Derry are presented in this exciting new format.
IT will premiere at Cosm's locations in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta on August 28th, 2026 and will debut at Cosm Detroit at a later date.
Tickets are now available to purchase for the IT immersive experience at the participating Cosm locations. Will you be attending?
