It seems like films don’t stay in theatres very long anymore, and a lot of fans miss out on getting the full experience that comes with watching horror movies on a big screen. Well, you will get your chance to watch two very different movies as they were meant to be seen in November.

First up will be Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. Released in 1986, it’s one of the few films in the franchise that got positive reviews from critics. The first Friday the 13th film released in 1980 – so we are talking about six films in six years, which is pretty quick turnaround for sequels.

In Jason Lives, we see Tommy Jarvis once again released from a mental hospital. He has by no means recovered from the trauma caused by his run-ins with Jason Vorhees, and is experiencing flashbacks. Attempting to move past it all, he and a friend go to Jason’s grave and dig him up, intending to burn his body. But things go wrong, and a double lightning strike instead gives the killer super strength and resilience.

Throughout the rest of the film, Tommy continues to relentlessly hunt Jason down and put an end to him once and for all. We all know how that turned out.

Fangoria magazine has been partnering with Regal Cinemas to re-release their staff picks, and Friday the 13th Part VI is the pick for November. There’s a reason for this: There is a Friday the 13th in November, and that’s the day you can catch it in a Regal theater in your hometown.

Tickets are only $13, and attendees will get a free collectible patch, so find a Regal theater near you and go see Jason in action.

Take an opportunity to see Korean horror sensation The Host on the big screen

Moving on, let’s talk about 2006’s The Host. Bong Joon Ho wrote and directed the Korean film, which was essentially a creature feature. The main character is a man named Gang-du, who works at a food stand close to the Han River.

He falls asleep at the stand, and is awakened by his daughter Hyun-seo, who is angry at him for missing a scheduled meeting at her school. But all of that falls to the wayside when a monstrous creature emerges from the river and grabs Hyun-seo.

It turns out that the creature has taken Hyun-seo into the sewers, and Gang-du is on a mission to get his daughter back.

The Host became a worldwide sensation, so it’s only fitting that it will return to theaters newly remastered in 4K, 20 years after its original release. You can watch it on November 20, and audiences will also get to see an exclusive conversation with Bong Joon Ho and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Last Night in Soho).
