5 horror podcasts to keep your eye (and ears) on in 2026

Horror comes in lots of forms: slasher films, books to read under the covers, video games that get you up close and personal with the monsters…and podcasts, for when you want to curl up and listen to something scary. Here are 5 great horror podcasts to check out this year – and never fear, there’s something for everyone.

If you enjoy bite-size scares on your commute or while doing chores…

I highly doubt you’ll “wish to adjust the dial. You are currently tuned into…the wrong station” and what you’ll find there is a plethora of stories, each unique and unconnected from the rest. In one, a man is beset by a harlequin that silently mirrors his every move - but only he can see. In another, a traveler stops at a country inn, hoping for a hot meal but instead getting swept into an ancient and bloody tradition. In another…well, you’ll have to choose an episode and find out. The unholy child of Anthony Botelho, Alexander Saxton, and Jacob Duarte Spiel, Wrong Station never fails to deliver some adrenaline.

If you love classic Victorian ghost stories and a narrator with a soothing voice…

Tony Walker narrates the best of the best in a sonorous British accent and adds some commentary afterwards. Longer works, like “The Canterville Ghost” are great for settling in with on a cold night, and short poems also make appearances. This podcast functions as a primer for any horror scholar: M.R. James, Washington Irving, H. Russel Wakefield, and more landmark figures appear. Walker’s own stories, which he occasionally inserts in between classics are wonderful as well. He’s built a thriving horror community, so if you love the podcast, check him out on Patreon!

If you want an anthology of weirdness with some mysterious throughlines…

While Mayfair follows an episodic structure that you can dip in and out of, this one does have some overarching storylines coming together. Mayfair is a town where very odd things happen, people tend to disappear, and unnatural creatures stalk the shadows – while being hunted themselves. The brainchild of Trevor Henderson, this is one more spectacularly creepy part of the Bloody FM network.

If you love suburban gothic and mind-bending weirdness…

Nico DeRoso’s sister went missing many years ago, and he’s the only one still looking for her. When he finds a suburb that shouldn’t exist, he thinks answers await him, but all is not as pleasant as it seems. No one ages here, fast food mascots and balloons turn deadly, and time doesn’t work quite the way it should. Directed by Madeline Regina and Sivan Raz, this podcast will change the way you look at the winding streets of housing developments forever. This one is serialized, so don’t listen out of order!

If you love the genre and are here for interviews, analysis, and general horror nerdiness…

Run by our own Jacob Harper, Talking Terror delves into the genre in wonderful detail. He’s got you covered from Christmas horror to the year’s most promising upcoming films. It’s a place for the horror geek we know you are – because otherwise, why would you be reading this?

Happy listening!
