Fresh off Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Samara Weaving has another film coming out this month. IFC has released the cast list, first-look images, poster, premiere date, and a trailer for Over Your Dead Body.
Over Your Dead Body is an English language remake of the Norwegian film The Trip, which was released in 2021. Weaving and Jason Segel portray an unhappy couple named Lisa and Dan, who take a trip to an isolated cabin.
They say they are taking the trip in order to re-ignite their marriage, but instead, each of them secretly plans to murder the other. But those carefully arranged (and murderous) plans fall apart when their home away from home is invaded by a croup of violent criminals.
“As the toxic getaway spirals into chaotic carnage, Dan and Lisa must survive the intruders, each other, and figure out if they want to save their marriage or survive it.”

Over Your Dead Body also stars Timothy Olyphant (Scream 2, The Crazies), Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets), and Keith Jardine (Love Lies Bleeding) as the home invaders. Paul Guilfoyle (Don’t Look Up) plays Dan’s father.

That’s an extremely strong cast of actors, and it’s a film I will most likely watch in theaters based on that alone! The trailer also looks fun, you can see it at the end of this article.
Samara Weaving has established herself as a genre favorite, appearing in such horror-thriller films as The Babysitter, Mayhem, Ready or Not, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Borderline, Azrael, and Scream VI. I absolutely adore her weird, warbly scream, which gets plenty of play in the films she appears in.

Over Your Dead Body is directed by Jorma Taccone, who is a member of Andy Sambert’s comedy music group The Lonely Island. He also directed the musical comedy Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
Over Your Dead Body will debut in theatres on April 24.

Over Your Dead Body made its premiere at SXSW Film Festival in March, where it received decent reviews. The Hollywood Reporter called it “Gleefully gory”, and no wonder – the original Norwegian version (The Trip) was written and directed by Tommy Wirkola, who was responsible for the very funny, gross-out comedy / horror films Dead Snow and Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead. If you love zombie films, and have never seen the Dead Snow duo, I highly recommend finding them and watching immediately. In the meantime, watch the trailer for Over Your Dead Body here:
