Shudder celebrates Halfway to Halloween with new originals/exclusives in April

Horror streaming giant Shudder is gearing up for its annual Halfway to Halloween celebration, and they have announced four of the new original films that will be included.

Included is a film that I gave a very positive review to this month, Dolly. If you enjoy movies like The Hills Have Eyes, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Wrong Turn, Dolly is the film for you!

The full Halfway to Halloween schedule is on its way, and The Horror Lounge will cover that information as soon as it’s in our hot little hands – but in the meantime, here are the Shudder originals and exclusives we can look forward to in April:

Deathstalker (Shudder Exclusive) – Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick) stars in this remake of the 1983 sword and sorcery film, which was produced by the late, great Roger Corman. Deathstalker finds a cursed amulet, which he steals from a body on a battlefield covered in corpses. Once the amulet is taken, he finds himself being hunted by creatures who want to kill him, and he must seek the help of a witch. Deathstalker comes to Shudder on April 3.

Somnium (Shudder Exclusive) – “At an experimental sleep clinic, Somnium, dreams are made real. Side effects may include hallucinations, confusion, paranoia, sleep paralysis, detachment from reality, lost sense of self and permanent nightmares.” Somnium stars Chloe Levine, Grace Van Dien, and Jonathan Schaech. Somnium comes to Shudder on April 10.

Night Patrol - Courtesy Shudder

Night Patrol (Shudder Exclusive) – In this 2025 film (which did the film festival circuit a few months ago), Xavier (Jermaine Fowler) is a Los Angeles police officer who also happens to be a former gang member patrols the housing projects that he grew up in. His partner Ethan (Justin Long) wants to become part of a special task force known as the Night Patrol, but Xavier soon discovers that there is evil afoot. Night Patrol will begin streaming on Shudder April 17.

You don't want to miss the last original coming to Shudder in April!

Dolly (Shudder Original) – I personally loved this insane, bloody backwoods horror flick, which sees a woman named Macy (Fabianne Therese) abducted by a huge person wearing a creepy doll mask and equally creepy childlike clothing. It soon becomes clear that “Dolly” wants Macy to be her child, and some very unsettling and uncomfortable things happen. Pro wrestler Max the Impaler kills it (pun intended) as Dolly. Dolly will begin streaming on Shudder April 24.

What’s on your wish list for the Halfway to Halloween campaign on Shudder? I’m hoping for something new from the Boulet Brothers, but I want to hear what YOU hope to see.
