AMC+ and Shudder have just released the trailer and the key art for their highly anticipated third season of The Terror. The first episode will premiere in May, and new episodes will drop weekly thereafter.
As fans of The Terror know, it is an anthology-style series, with each season telling a completely different story, and season three is titled The Terror: Devil in Silver. It’s based on the popular novel by Victor LaValle (The Changeling), and will consist of six episodes.
The Terror: Devil in Silver is the story of Pepper, an everyday working guy whose bad temper lands him in New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. While being involuntarily placed in a psychiatric hospital would be bad enough, it turns out that New Hyde has a lot going on beneath the surface.
First, Pepper has to contend with patients who seem to be working against him and hospital staff who are holding on to deep, dark secrets. But to make matters much, much worse there is an evil presence inhabiting the place…a presence which seems to absolutely thrive on the abundant amount of suffering taking place at New Hyde.
The Terror: Devil in Silver will debut on AMC+ and Shudder Thursday, May 7
The series is expected to begin airing on AMC later in the year. Dan Stevens (Abigail) portrays Pepper, and serves as an executive producer. Other cast members include Judith Light (Before), Aasif Mandvi (Evil), CCH Pounder (Orphan), Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue), b (You), Chiaza Uche (Silo), Stephen Root (Barry), John Benjamin Hickey (Lilly), Michael Aronov (The Americans), Philip Ettinger (I Know This Much is True), and Marin Ireland (The Dark and the Wicked).

The Terror: Devil in Silver is executive produced by Ridley Scott, who directed Alien, Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire), Victor LaValle (author of the novel the series is based on), and Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets). Kusama also directs the first two episodes.
The first two seasons of The Terror were well-received critically and by viewers. Season one was about Captain Sir John Franklin’s ill-fated expedition to the Arctic with the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. When the ships become blocked in by ice, they face starvation, a killer, and a strange bear-like creature that threatens to kill them all.
Season two, The Terror: Infamy was set during World War II in an American internment camp for Japanese Americans. While in the camp, the captives must contend with a vengeful spirit known as a bakemono, as well as discrimination and a sadistic leader.
The Terror and The Terror: Infamy are currently streaming on AMC+. Both are excellent, and you should definitely watch them if you haven’t already. But first, watch the trailer for The Terror: Devil in Silver below.
