31 Days of Horror series will run on The Horror Lounge in October, and it won’t consist of just movies

We at The Horror Lounge are so excited about Halloween, as are horror fans everywhere! In honor of spooky season, we will be running a 31 Days of Horror series, where each of our contributors will have the chance to recommend movies, series, games, and podcasts that we think are great for Halloween viewing.

Now, we know that movies in the Halloween franchise are a given, as are films like Trick ‘r Treat, so we aren’t including those in this series. Instead, Brian and I have asked everyone to think outside the box, and try to feature horror that might be new to some of our readers. So, my hope is that we will be able to inspire some of you to watch something you haven’t seen before.

When Brian and I built this website, we recruited people who had contributed with us in the past, and we were careful to choose those who had expertise in different horror sub-categories. That way, we could be sure that an article about a new horror game actually knew what they were talking about…same with books, podcasts, and so on.

For our 31 Days of Horror series, we are not just covering movies (as some sites do), you will be recommended all forms of horror. We expect October to be a busy month where horror is concerned, so there will likely be days that three or four articles will be published, which is exciting!

If you are reading this, thank you so much for keeping up with us! Brian and I worked for another outlet until October 31 of last year, when the company that owned it chose to shutter it for the time being. We had absolutely loved writing about horror, and just couldn’t stop doing it, so we immediately started planning out what would become The Horror Lounge.

We were new to building a website, so it was a learning curve, but we launched in December, and what a whirlwind it has been! Over the past nine months, we have published more than 550 articles. We have interviewed notables in the horror genre, reviewed multiple horror films, books, series and games, and covered films by new voices in horror. Our team remains in place, we have only had one of our original contributors leave us (due to personal reasons), and all of us continue to be excited about sharing info with our readers.
