Holidays are always prime material for horror movies. For instance, there are a slew of Christmas-themed genre movies, such as the classic Black Christmas, Silent Night, Deadly Night, and Christmas Evil. There's the Halloween franchise, Eli Roth's Thanksgiving, and so many more bloody holiday movies. Easter may not have quite as many genre movies as Christmas or Halloween, but it still has some, many of which are pure B movie territory and a lot of fun. Here are five Easter horror movie recommendations, including where to stream them.

Critters 2: The Main Course (1988)

Directed by Mick Garris, Critters 2's plot takes place two years after the first movie. This time, the movie occurs over Easter weekend in Grover's Bend as Brad Brown (Scott Grimes) returns to find that leftover critter eggs have hatched, unleashing terror and mayhem. Meanwhile, the space bounty hunters Ug (Terrence Mann), Lee (Roxanne Kernohan), and Charlie (Don Keith Opper) return to help destroy the creatures, which take over the town.

Critters 2 is streaming for free on Tubi and PLEX. It's also available on Prime Video.

Bunnyman (2011)

Bunnyman is one of those silly movies that you put on when you simply want to turn your mind off. It's a late-night Friday watch that's anything but serious. Written, directed, and produced by Carl Lindbergh, the movie follows six friends. They're terrorized by a maniac in a bunny suit and his cannibalistic family. Bunnyman also has two sequels, Bunnyman 2, released in 2014, and Bunnyman Vengeance, released in 2017. Why not have a Bunnyman marathon this weekend?

Bunnyman is available to stream on Fandango at Home and available to purchase through Apple TV.

The Night Before Easter (2014)

Here's another maniacal Easter bunny slasher. In The Night Before Easter, an axe-wielding lunatic in a bunny costume stalks a group of friends at a storage facility. The movie was written and directed by Joseph Henson and Nathan Johnson. It's a low-budget indie movie, but it does include some gruesome kills.

The Night Before Easter is available for free on YouTube.

Night of the Lepus (1972)

Night of the Lepus is part of the "when-animals-attack" wave of horror movies that were so prevalent in the 1970s. This included movies like Grizzly, Alligator, Jaws, Piranha, and Night of the Lepus. This 1972 film, directed by William F. Claxton and based on the novel The Year of the Angry Rabbit, is about, well, mutated and bloodthirsty rabbits. The film was panned upon its initial release but has since gained a cult following.

Night of the Lepus is available to stream on Plex and available to rent on most major streaming platforms.

Rottentail (2019)

Last but not least, we have Rottentail. This is a horror comedy directed by Brian Skiba and starring Dominique Swan, Corin Nemec, and Gianni Capaldi. The movie is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Kevin Moyers and David C. Hayes. The film focuses on a researcher named Peter Cotton (Nemec) who gets bitten by a mutant rabbit. He then transforms into a half-man/half-bunny monster and terrorizes the local community.

Rottentail is available to stream on Shudder and Apple TV. It's also available to rent on other streaming platforms.
