Here's some good news, slasher fans.
If you didn't catch Scream 7 during its theatrical run, you can now watch it at home. Scream 7 will stream exclusively on Paramount+ on May 28, along with every other movie in the franchise and behind-the-scenes extras that are part of The Scream Collection.
The movie is directed by Kevin Williamson, the screenwriter of the original movie. Williamson co-wrote the latest sequel's screenplay with Guy Busick. In the newest installment of the long-running franchise, a different Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life for herself, outside of the public eye. However, her fears resurfaces when her daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May, becomes the next target in Ghostface's grisly game. Determined to protect her family, Sidney has to face her past to end the bloodshed and stop the next killer. The movie marks Campbell's return, who was absent from Scream 6 and had a limited role in Scream 5. This movie places her front and center again.
The movie also includes the return of franchise favorite Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers. Additionally, Matthew Lillard reprises the role of the Stu Macher, one of the two killers from the first movie, though his return has a twist. The premise of Stu's return won't be spoiled here, however. The movie also stars Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Roger L. Jackson, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, Celeste O'Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, and Joel McHale, who plays Sidney's husband.
Despite the controversy surrounding Melissa Barrera's exit/firing from the franchise, the movie still grossed $214 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing movie in the 30-year franchise. An eighth movie is likely. However, there's no word yet on who will direct the next sequel and what involvement Williamson, Cox, and Campbell would have, though it's fair to assume Sidney and Gale will likely return.
Besides Scream, Paramount+ has several other horror movies and fan favorite franchises available to stream, including Friday the 13th, Scary Movie, A Quiet Place, and more contemporary movies, such as Smile and the new body horror movie Slanted.
Check out the trailer for Scream 7 below. The movie will stream on Paramount+ beginning May 28, along with the other six movies in the franchise and behind-the-scenes extras.
