For years, Friday the 13th fans were left in the wilderness, namely due to lawsuits that prevented new content. Well, this year, those of us who love the franchise have a lot to celebrate. There's the prequel series, Crystal Lake, releasing later this year on Peacock and produced by A24. There are also not one, but three Friday the 13ths in 2026, including this month! To celebrate, Regal Theatres is screening five of the movies throughout the year, beginning this Friday. Here's a breakdown of the schedule.

  • February 13 - Friday the 13th (1980) and Friday the 13th Part 2

  • March 13- Friday the 13th Part 3 and Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

  • November 13th - Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Regal is skipping Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. The movie remains controversial among fans, since it doesn't feature Jason Voorhees. Instead, the killer is a medic named Roy (Dick Wieand). Jason would return, in zombie form, in Jason Lives, which is my personal favorite in the franchise. I love its meta qualities (long before Scream) and Jason's rotting corpse look.

According to a press release, Regal promises something big for this year's final Friday the 13th in November. This fan is certainly eager to see what that may be. In that same press release, Brooks LeBoeuf, Senior Vice President of US Content at Regal said, "At our theatres, Regal shares joy through extraordinary experiences, and on each Friday the 13th in 2026, we will deliver on that promise to our horror movie loving guests." LeBoeuf adds, "We have scheduled a year-long moviegoing event around one of the most popular horror series in the world, celebrated on its namesake holiday."

For those who can't make it to a Regal screening this weekend, there are other options. Pluto TV is streaming several of the movies for free this month, including the original and Parts 2-8. For those who live anywhere near eastern Pennsylvania, the Gap Theatre is screening Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and Jason X this Friday, and on Friday the 13th in March, the theatre will screen the Tommy Jaris trilogy, which entails Parts 4-6, all in glorious 35 mm.

Additionally, Waldorf Estate of Fear, located in Leighton, PA, is throwing a Jason Lives bash in conjunction with Horror / 365 to honor the movie's 40th anniversary, which is this year. The event will be held from May 1-2 and feature vendors and celebrity guests, including Thom Matthews, who played Tommy Jarvis, and C.J. Graham, who starred as Jason.
