Season 2 of Dexter Resurrection already added some major star power with Brian Cox, who is set to play the New York Ripper. Now, a horror icon is joining the cast. It's been confirmed that Kane Hodder has signed on, giving fans even more reason to watch.
Production is already underway on the second season, and executive producer Scott Reynolds took to social media this past week to announce Hodder as the latest addition. Hodder is best known for playing the hockey-masked slasher Jason Voorhees in a number of Friday the 13th films, including Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason X, and Friday the 13th: The Game. He's also starred in a number of the Hatchet movies, which are also slashers.
Thus far, details about Dexter Resurrection: Season 2 have mostly been kept under wraps, including Hodder's role, though Reynolds did share a picture of Hodder on set, wearing gloves. Perhaps he'll play a serial killer who eventually ends up on Dexter's table.
Hodder joins a long list of stars who have played a part in Dexter's many, many seasons. Other featured celebs have included Christian Camarago, Keith Carradine, Jimmy Smits, Julia Stiles, Colin Hanks, and John Lithgow as the terrifying Trinity Killer in the fourth season of the original series. Additionally, the first season of Dexter: Resurrection included Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, a billionaire who is obsessed with serial killers and eventually becomes the season's primary antagonist.
As for everyone's favorite serial killer, he was initially shot and killed by his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), at the end of Dexter: New Blood, but because of the series' impressive streaming numbers and the show's enduring popularity, Michael C. Hall reprised the role yet again for Dexter: Resurrection, though this time, the series takes place in New York City, which adds a fun twist and additional killers.
So far, it's unknown if the series will remain in New York City or shift elsewhere, but since Cox is playing the famed New York Ripper character, it's likely at least part of it will be set in the Big Apple. And while little is known about the storyline, it's already been confirmed that Dexter Resurrection: Season 2 will premiere in October 2026.
Other than the additions of Cox and Hodder, it's been confirmed that Uma Thurman will reprise her role as Charly. In the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, Charly was essentially Leon's bodyguard and muscle. Meanwhile, series regular and fan favorite Desmon Harrington will have a bigger role as Joey Quinn.
There's plenty for Dexter fans to be excited about, and Kane Hodder is another positive addition. Here's hoping Hodder is allowed some gnarly on-screen kills.
Dexter: Resurrection's second season will stream on Paramount+, and the series' various other iterations are also available on Paramount+.
