Sheri Moon Zombie releases anti-AI debut single "I Love My Robot"
Sheri Moon Zombie is no fan of AI.
The actress' debut single, "I Love My Robot," rails against the technology, with lyrics like, "AI, AI / I don't need your AI / You're a vampire suckin' me dry."
You can listen to the track here, and also watch the music video, which features the actress surrounded by clunky, retro robots that look like they stumbled off the set of a retro 1960s sci-fi B movie as Moon Zombie pumps and waves black pom-poms in the air, all while denouncing AI. Once the power chords kick in, the robots perform as her band. The video was directed by her husband, Rob Zombie.
The track then suggests that Moon Zombie will keep writing her songs without the assistance of ChatGPT and that she doesn't care about algorithms that frequently suggest what we should listen to or watch. "I Love My Robot" is currently available on streaming services like Spotify, and it will be included as the A-side of a forthcoming 12-inch picture disc, set to release through Nuclear Blast Records. It will also include the Rob Zombie song "Sir Acid Lord Wolfman" on the B-side, which is from his latest album, The Great Satan.
The one-time pressing is limited to 600 copies worldwide, including 500 in the U.S. and 100 for Europe. It's scheduled for release on October 30, just in time for Halloween. Physical copies of the picture disc can be preordered here.
Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie started dating in the early 1990s and married on Halloween in 2002. She's appeared in his music videos and all of his films, including his directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses, which then spawned into the Firefly trilogy (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and 3 From Hell). In the trilogy, she stars as Baby Firefly and she's part of a sadistic family. Her other roles have included Michael Myers' mom in Halloween II and Heidi Hawthrone in the witchy Lords of Salem.
Other than the bubblegum punk single "I Love My Robot," there are no current plans for Moon Zombie to release more music, let alone a full album, though that could always change. Her husband, meanwhile, is about to tour with another shock rocker, Marilyn Manson. The Freaks on Parade tour kicks off August 20 in West Palm Beach Florida and concludes on September 20 in Concord, California.
