Halloween Horror Nights is paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with themed house

Now that we are getting closer to Halloween, the Halloween Horror Nights announcements are dropping regularly. The most recent is that houses in both Orlando and Hollywood will pay tribute to the career of the late Ozzy Osbourne.
Osbourne, as most of us know, was an iconic heavy metal musician who build much of his career on pushing boundaries. His most famous feat was in 1982, when he bit the head off a live bat while performing onstage.
Though he later admitted that he thought it was a toy bat thrown by someone in the audience, it pretty much cemented his reputation as a performer who was willing to do anything. In reality, the stunt resulted in him having to go through a series of painful rabies shots.
He was also known for his dark music, including songs such as Crazy Train, and albums like The Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream, and Ordinary Man. Music from all of these albums will be used to guide visitors through the house, which is titled Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness.
As stated in the press release: “Developed as a living horror movie through the lens of Halloween Horror Nights, this non-traditional memorial to Ozzy Osbourne will span 45 years, transporting guests on a twisted journey though the artist’s outrageous and eccentric solo career in unique experiences across both coasts.”
When you first step into the haunted house, you will be transported to Ozzy’s home in Birmingham, England. Accompanied by Crazy Train and other great Ozzy tunes, you will be able to time travel throughout his lifetime, including a visit to the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by the Diary of a Madman album.
At Universal Orlando, visitors to Halloween Horror Nights will traverse through dungeons and ruins before climbing aboard the Crazy Train for a ride inspired by some of Ozzy’s most famous album covers.

Sharon and Jack Osbourne stated: “Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created. Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life. Walking through these haunted houses, you’ll recognize so many moments inspired by his music and imagination. It’s a wonderful tribute to Ozzy.”
Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando, Mike Aiello proclaimed Universal is “honored to collaborate with he Osbourne family to create a unique haunted house that celebrates the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne.” He said it was important to invent an authentic experience for fans (who should look for Easter Eggs throughout the house).
Of course, there is also limited-release merchandise that ties in with the Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness house. Merch includes a t-shirt and an acrylic figure that can be added to your souvenir Infernal Carnival display. Halloween Horror Nights opens August 28 in Orlando, and September 3 in Hollywood. Both events run through November 1 on select nights.
