The Blairstown Diner in Blairstown, NJ is a familiar staple to Friday the 13th fans. Not only was it a filming location in the original movie, but it's also a hotspot every Friday the 13th. Over the years, the diner has hosted cast members from the franchise, vendors, and various events pertaining to all things Jason Voorhees.
With the Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, set to debut this fall on Peacock, the Blairstown Diner plans to celebrate. On October 15, the prequel's premiere date, the diner will host a watch party with a limited number of tickets available.
According to a recent Facebook post by the diner, they're first going to sell the Crystal Lake watch party tickets at a July 18 horror-themed concert event titled "Dust Til Death." Tickets go on sale beginning at 5 pm that day.
The concert will feature music from Burned into Existence, Edge Ways, Schools Out, Horror Scene, and First Jason, which features Ari Lehman on vocals. Lehman played Jason Voorhees as a boy in the original movie, hence the name of his band. The diner also stressed on its Facebook page that the watch party will have a limited number of tickets available and in-person attendees at the Dust Til Death concert will have the first shot at snagging a ticket.
Additionally, the diner also teased some guests in attendance for the watch party, though they didn't announce yet who they'll be. The original Friday the 13th was filmed in Warren County, New Jersey, with several scenes shot in downtown Blairstown. The campsite depicted in that first movie is nearby and frequently offers tours. As Crystal Lake was in production, various social media pages associated with Blairstown shared photos of film crews on location. It's unclear how many episodes will feature the town, but it'll add additional connective tissues to the first film.
Crystal Lake will focus on Jason's mother, Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, Freaks and Geeks). She gives up her singing career to take care of her special needs son. Though it's unclear if an adult Jason will eventually appear in the prequel series, we already know that Callum Vinson has been cast to play young Jason. However, on the series' IMDb page, Zachary Branch is listed as adult Jason Voorhees for three episodes, though Peacock and A24, the company producing the prequel, haven't announced adult Jason's inclusion. We'll have to tune in and see. Additionally, Nick Cordileone has been cast as Ralph, and it's probably safe to assume that he'll play the younger version of Crazy Ralph from the initial movie, who warns the camp counselors that they're all doomed.
