True crime series The Curious Case of...returns to ID with more bizarre stories

The Curious Case of…is returning to ID with eight new episodes, all dealing with those twisty-turny, puzzling cases all true crime junkies love to dive into. Beth Karas, a legal analyst and expert in the realm hosts the series, and ID promises that this season of The Curious Cas of… “will venture even deeper into inconceivably shocking true crime stories that are filled with deception, obsession, and the unbelievable.
The series began as a one-off titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, but fans were enthralled, and there continued to be additional jaw-dropping events that followed Natalia. So, ID moved forward with two new seasons.
Inspired by the success of the docu-series, ID moved forward with an all-new series that focused on other crazy, stranger-than-fiction true crime cases, and that’s where The Curious Case of… began. This will be the second season of that series.
When will The Curious Case of… premiere?
The new season will debut on Monday, January 12 at 10:00 pm ET on ID. New episodes will air weekly after that, and all episodes will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Episode Guide:
Death by Detox? (1/12) – Dr. Robert O. Young is a descendant of Brigham Young, who was the second leader of the Mormon Church (AKA The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) He had been a tennis superstar back in college, and eventually became known for his ph Miracle books, which were all about the virtues of following an alkaline diet. But it turns out that Young was not really a doctor, and his claims to have cured cancer were false.
The Killer Cheesecake (1/19) – “Salon owner Stella Stepanyan grows concerned when her lash technician, Olga Tsvyk, doesn’t show up for work. Olga is a recent transplant from the Ukraine living in Queens. When Stella goes searching, she finds Olga unconscious in her apartment. The last thing Olga can recall is a client bringing her a piece of cheesecake that was ‘to die for’.”
The Skincare Queen and the Hitman (Two parts – 1/26 and 2/2) – Dawn DaLuise was once a very successful skincare expert who had a roster of celebrities as her clients. All of that changed when Gabriel Suarez came to LA and opened his own salon in close proximity to Dawn’s. She was soon being harassed, and was even arrested on charges of hiring a hitman to take out Suarez. She ended up in prison for ten months, where she eventually figured out exactly who was behind the bizarre conspiracy.
The Principal Who Hypnotized His School (2/16) – This crazy story focuses on Dr. George Kenney, who was the principal at North Port High School in Sarasota, Florida. He had begun hypnotizing his students in order to “optimize their performance in creative endeavors and athletics”, but he was doing this with no formal training. What followed were two teen suicides, and one fatal car accident…and all three of these deaths just may have involved Kenney’s hypnotizing sessions.
One Woman Dying for Attention (2/23) – At first, everyone believed 35-year-old Sarah Delashmit’s claims that she had breast cancer and suffered from multiple genetic disorders. She collected a lot of money in donations from charitable organizations and kind strangers before anyone figured out that everything she had been claiming were lies. After confessing on The Dr. Phil Show, she did 18 months in prison, but after her release, her victims kept eyes on her. Turns out, the story may not be over.
The Town with Tourette’s (3/2) – In 2011 in the small town of Le Roy, New York, teenage cheerleader Katie Krautwurst began to suffer from uncontrollable spasms and often-physical outbursts. Doctors were baffled, especially when many of her fellow students fell victim to the same symptoms. Out of the 600 students attending Le Roy’s high school, 17 were affected.
The Corpse Who Came to Dinner (3/9) – As crazy as it sounds, Jean Stevens managed to convince the funeral home to release her husband’s embalmed corpse to her after his death, and she cared for his body as if he were still alive. Ten years later, Jean’s twin sister passed away, and she also brought her dead body home. For several years, she talked to the deceased bodies, brushed their hair, and in general seemed to enjoy their company. When somebody notifies the authorities, they are left with the task of deciding whether Jean is a graverobber, or just an elderly woman who is not good at goodbyes.
