David Arquette to celebrate Scream's 30th anniversary with a "Behind the Scream" screening tour

Horror fans know David Arquette best for his performance as Deputy Dewey in the Scream franchise. His first performed the role 30 years ago, and to celebrate Scream's 30th anniversary, Arquette is embarking on a "Behind the Scream" screening tour, where he'll share behind-the-scenes stories about the iconic slasher movie and take questions following a screening of the movie.

The tour includes 14 cities in total, including Berglund Performing Arts Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia, Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida, Bass Concert Hall in Austin Texas, and more. Additionally, a limited number of VIP tickets will be available and include a post-show photo opportunity with Arquette.

Directed by Wes Craven, Scream rewrote the rules of the horror genre with its meta commentary about the slasher genre. It combined humor with grisly kills and created new horror icons in Ghostface, Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott, Coutney Cox's Gale Weather's, and Arquette's Deputy Dewey. Arquette reprised the role for several sequels, and he frequently attends horror conventions with other cast members. The franchise continues to do well at the box office, and Scream 7, released earlier this year, was the highest-grossing installment in the long-running franchise. Scream 8 is in its very early stages, with no director set yet.

Besides Arquette's "Behind the Scream" screening tour, there are other celebrations underway to celebrate Scream's 30th anniversary. For instance, Varese Sarabande and Craft Recordings are re-releasing Marco Beltrami's score in a special deluxe vinyl edition. The record releases August 28th. As autumn grows closer, it wouldn't be surprising if even more Scream 30th anniversary events are announced.
