Get fearfully festive with Shudder's December schedule

As we near the end of the year, we are also nearing the end of Shudder’s Season of Screams. During the course of the Season of Screams, subscribers were treated to a new season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, The Last Drive-In’s final Halloween special, and Shudder original films The Cycle and Hallowarrior. So, what’s in store for us during December? Let’s check it out!
December 1:
P2 – Businesswoman Angela stays at work late on Christmas Eve, only to find that her car won’t start when she is ready to leave. She ends up locked in the parking garage with the psychotic parking attendant.
A Christmas Tale – A group of kids discovers a bank robber dressed in a Santa suit and trapped in a pit. They decide to hold her hostage, but soon regret it when she escapes, armed with an axe.
The Ghost – “In 1910 Scotland, a woman and her lover murder her doctor husband to get ahold of his fortune, but increasingly strange happenings lead her to believe his ghost is haunting them.”
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians – Largely considered to be one of the worst films ever made, this one gives us the story of Santa being abducted by Martians. The reason? They need somebody to give their little Martian kids presents.
The Munsters – Rob Zombie co-wrote and directed this reboot of the beloved 1960s sitcom. It stars Sheri Moon Zombie and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Lily and Herman, alongside Danel Robuck, Richard Brake, Jorge Garcia, Sylvester McCoy, Catherine Schell, and Cassandra Peterson.

Access: Horror 2026 Short Program – We covered Access: Horror in September, and now you can see a selection of short horror films that “celebrate the impact, history, and future of disability within the genre.”
The Shining – When the Torrance family (Jack, Wendy, and little Danny) stay at the Overlook Hotel for the winter as caretakers, they aren’t expecting what happens.
Hannibal Rising – Hannibal Lecter’s history is examined, from his time as a boy in Lituania to his first murder as a teen, to his search for the men who killed and cannibalized his sister.
Silent Night – “Nell, Simon and their three sons ae ready to welcome friends and family for what promises to be a perfect Christmas gathering. Perfect except for one thing: everyone is going to die.”
The Haunted Season – Created by Keri-La Janisse (Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror), this series is unique. Each “season” consists of only one episode, with others releasing the following year in December. The Haunted Season follows the tradition of telling ghost stories for Christmas. This year is the third episode, called The Fated Hour: Austria, 1810. It’s the night before her wedding, and Florentine decides to share the story of her sister Seraphine with her new husband.
We Are Still Here – In this 2015 film, a couple grieving the loss of their child move into a home in rural New England, hoping to heal. Unfortunately, the house has a dark history, and awakens every 30 years to feed.

December 4:
Unholy Night – It’s Christmas Eve, and Gino’s family is observing their traditional family holiday. But the merriment is disrupted when Gino’s long dead grandmother comes home for Christmas, because, well…she’s been dead for a long time.
Joe Bob's final special comes to Shudder in December
Joe Bob Conquers Christmas (Shudder Original) – Well, this is it: Joe Bob and Darcy’s last special on Shudder. Join the cast and crew for the last time as they present a double feature while also holding their annual charity fundraiser. *The special will air live on Shudder TV, then begin streaming on Sunday, December 6.
December 7:
Past Life – “Jason doesn’t believe in reincarnation until hypnosis reveals he may have been a killer in his past life. He partners with hypnotist Bevan to explore secrets locked in his mind and try to solve a mystery from before he was born.”
Psycho (1998) – Gus Van Sant is responsible for this remake, which is nearly a shot for shot re-creation of Hitchcock’s horror masterpiece. But you can’t improve on perfection, and the lackluster remake just doesn’t compare.
Wer – A.J. Cook (Final Destination 2, Criminal Minds) is an attorney who has agreed to defend a man charged with murdering an American family vacationing in France. But she soon begins to suspect that there is a lot more to the story (she’s right).
The Wolfman – “Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an American man is bitten and subsequently cursed by a werewolf.”
December 11:

Red Snow (Shudder Original) – In this Finnish film, Johanna is a teen who is fascinated with the idea of a Twilight-style vampire. But when her dream finally comes true, and she encounters an actual vamp, he’s not what she expected. Instead, Martti the vampire is chubby, balding, and wears a Santa suit.
December 14:
Pure Scum - After a drug-fueled car crash, ex-private schoolboys Ayden and Jesse escape into a Melbourne CBD and are plunged into a night of unbridled debauchery and rapidly escalating violence.
December 21:
Went Up the Hill – When Jack attends the funeral of his mother, he meets her widow, whose name is Jill. Things go sideways when Mom’s spirit pops up to inhabit both Jack and Jill.
December 25:
Split Rock (Shudder Original) – When a group works together to investigate an anomaly deep in the terrain, they end up finding a force of destruction underground.
December 28:
The Penthouse – Filmed in Kuala Lumpur, The Penthouse is about Saina and David, who move into a luxury penthouse with their baby. They are hoping to start a new life, but instead, Saina starts to hear sounds and see shadows inside.
