A Fortnitemares Scare Zone is coming to Halloween Horror Nights
Wow, Universal Orlando Resort has made not one, but TWO Halloween Horror Nights announcements in the past few days. First came the news that houses at both Orlando and Hollywood would use the recent Evil Dead Burn as its theme.
And now we are being told that a Fortnite themed Scare Zone will also be present at both events. The Scare Zone is inspired by Fortnitemares, the game’s signature Halloween event.”
Fortnite is of course a hugely successful video game involving a global ecosystem. There, players can hang out with their besties, create, and compete in challenges. Fortnite is somewhat unique in that it is available in seven very different game mode versions.
Fortnitemares is a special event that rotates into Fortnite: Battle Royale each spooky season, and it unlocks Halloween-themed cosmetics, along with new weapons and locations. The map is also decorated for the season, and specially themed items are also available.
The info on the Halloween Horror Nights press release describes the Fortnitemares Scare Zone as featuring “ever-evolving and high stakes environments.” Visitors will venture into Freaky Fields, which is a Halloween themed living battleground that includes a threatening force.
While walking through the scare zone, you will be able to spot well-known Fortnitemares characters and the Battle Bus, but you can also expect to see some new things that are exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights.

Fortnitemares joins the other announced themes at Halloween Horror Nights
The other announced houses include Hellraiser, Stranger Things, and Sinners. The overall theme of this year’s event is Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, and the “hosts” will be Dr. Oddfellow and Jack the Clown, original characters created by Universal for past Halloween Horror Nights events.
As the Halloween season creeps closer, Universal will make more announcements involving house and scare zone themes, merchandise, and special themed food and beverage options. Keep your eyes on The Horror Lounge for those announcements.
As a reminder, Halloween Horror Nights begins in Orlando August 28, and in Hollywood on September 3, with both events running select nights through Sunday, November 1.
