Lionsgate Limited is releasing a 4K Steelbook for Sorority Row
The remake of The House on Sorority Row is headed for a Steelbook release. The film – which was titled Sorority Row – was originally released in 2009, and starred Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Rumer Willis, Audrina Patridge, and the late Carrie Fisher.
In Sorority Row, the Theta Pi sorority sisters are covering up a dark secret. At a party to celebrate becoming college seniors, they attempt a prank on Megan’s cheating boyfriend Garrett…but, this is a slasher film, so naturally the prank goes horribly wrong. Megan ends up dead, and the group hides her body and vows that they will never tell what happened.
On graduation day eight months later, they each receive a threatening text message, and things just escalate from there. Soon, everyone who was involved in Megan’s accidental death and the hiding of her body are being hunted, and the body count rises.
Sorority Row features a fun appearance by the late Carrie Fisher as the shotgun-wielding Theta Pi house mother, and the entire film is played out as a dark comedy of sorts.
The original film, 1982’s The House on Sorority Row played the story in a more deadly serious manner (pardon the pun), and rather than the victim being one of the sister’s, the person killed was the sorority house mother. It was a box office success, but reviews were mixed. Since then, it has become a cult favorite.

The Steelbook artwork is by Vance Kelly, known for his album covers and poster designs. The Sorority Row 4K Steelbook, BD, and Digital released on September 15, and you can order it on the Lionsgate website.
Lionsgate Limited is known for their excellent Steelbook treatments, and their stated mission is “to enrich your connection to your favorite films – through careful movie restoration, specially designed collectible packaging, and extra content that honors the vision of the filmmakers.” Their tagline is “Created for movie lovers by movie lovers”, and that seems to be a credo they follow to the letter.
