Return of the Living Dead, Misery, and more horror gems are headed to Tubi in November
The Halloween season may be over, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean Tubi is easing up on its horror additions. While the November choices aren't quite as robust as last month's, there's still plenty to enjoy, including zombies, a classic Stephen King adaptation, and holiday horror.
Let's look at all the horror movies headed to the free streamer in November.
Tubi's November line-up includes some solid zombie films and stellar adaptations
There are two major zombie movies headed to Tubi this month. The first is the 1985 cult favorite Return of the Living Dead. This horror-comedy is an absolute blast. It features a bunch of punk rockers who encounter the undead in a graveyard. It also has great practical effects, especially a zombie known as the Tarman, and 80s horror icons Thom Mathews, who stars as Freddy, and Linne Quigley, who plays Trash. If you've never seen her cemetary dance, you won't soon forget it after a first watch. Return of the Living Dead is an absolute must-watch.
The other big zombie movie available this month is I Am Legend, the 2007 adaptation of Richard Matheson's influential novel. The movie stars Will Smith as protagonist Robert Neville, a U.S. Army scientist trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world in New York City. The shots of NYC are eerie, and the post-9/11 metaphor hits hard, but the film has plenty of great action sequences and gnarly zombies, or Darkseekers as they're called. Return of the Living Dead and I Am Legend would make a solid double feature, even if they're tones are drastically different.
Besides I Am Legend, two other major adaptions are now available on Tubi. The first is 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula, an utterly gorgeous looking movie with a stellar cast that includes Gary Oldman as Dracula, Winona Ryder as Mina, Anthony Hopkins as Professor Van Helsing, and Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker. Additionally, 1990's Misery is also available this month. James Caan's performance as author Paul Sheldon and Kathy Bates' role as obsessive and deadly uber fan Annie Wilkes are iconic. Because of the movie's snowy setting, it also works well for a holiday horror list.
Holiday horror slashes its way onto Tubi in November
Though most of us are likely still boxing up the Halloween decorations or eating leftover candy, the holiday horror spirit is coming to Tubi this month. Though the December line-up will likely feature many more holiday horror options, there are two additions this month worth noting. The first is A Creature Was Stirring, a 2023 creature feature starring Scout Taylor-Compton, best known for playing Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's Halloween movies. In this movie, she plays Liz. Along with her brother, Kory (Connor Paolo), Liz breaks into the home of a nurse, Faith (Chrissy Metz), during a snowstorm. Meanwhile, Faith keeps her daughter locked away in a bedroom and medicated. This movie has a fun Christmas atmosphere, wintery setting, and great practical effects. It's not a perfect movie, but it's enjoyable.
The other yuletide movie hitting the streamer this month is Black Xmas, the 2006 remake of the classic 1974 movie Black Christmas. While nothing compares to the original movie, Black Xmas is still a decent slasher with some pretty gory and gruesome kills. It's also much better than the 2019 remake. And speaking of slashers, Tubi also added the original Child's Play and the 2019 remake, so you can have your fill of old Chucky this month, too.
