Tubi adds three new content creator-led series for spooky season
Tubi has been announcing a lot of new additions in October, including original films R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 and Buzzkill. The next original projects Tubi is adding are three new creator-led series.
YouTubers / content creators are branching out into films and series a lot these days, as their popularity puts them in the forefront of entertainment, and each of these series are helmed by influencers.
Here is what we know about the three new series on Tubi, along with their debut dates:
October 13:
The Besties in Haunted High – This series is led by Mackenzie Turner, a Canadian TikTok star known for her video clip content. The clips show off Turner’s comedic talent and her ability to do impersonations. The Besties is Turner’s YouTube channel, co-hosted with Lael Hansen. It launched in 2021, and has 1.4 million subscribers.
In the series, Turner and Hansen end up trapped in their high shool on Halloween night. In order to escape, the two “besties” are forced to play six different deadly games by a creepy girl.
October 15:
Who Did It? (Season two) – Sofi Manassyan has over 11 million followers on her YouTube channel. Manassyan’s blurb on her YouTube channel includes the description of herself as “a director, writer, actress, and producer of my own films and TV series.” She also a dancer.
Who Did It? Features a group of people “thrown into a deadly murder mystery with a killer among them. The only way out is to figure out who among them is the culprit.
October 16:
The Haunted Estate (season two) – Celina Myers (also known as CelinaSpookyBoo) is the influencer on this short list that I am personally the most familiar with. Primarily known via her celinaspookyboo YouTube and TikTok channels, she posts sketch comedy clips for her 3.48 million subscribers.
She and fellow YouTube star Kris Collins recently appeared in the found footage horror film House on Eden, which can be seen on both Shudder and Hulu.
In The Haunted Estate, Celina and her husband Adam Myers investigate haunted places such as the Lancaster Smokehouse and Wade Manor.
Tubi is a free film-streaming platform with a massive library of content in all genres. Their Terror on Tubi section recently expanded, adding many more horror films to their already quite large library.
