The Creep Tapes will soon creep back to Shudder for a third season

Shudder series The Creep Tapes will be returning for a third season just as Halloween planning kicks into gear. Based on the popular Creep films (there are two, and a third is reportedly in the works), the series has been a hit for Shudder.
As with the films and the first two seasons of the series, executive producers Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice are on board, along with some pretty great guest stars. Said stars will include Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House), Nic Hamilton (IT), Elliott Fulham (Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3), and Ora Duplass (Coven Academy). Ora Duplass happens to be EP Mark Duplass’s daughter, and she will be appearing what is described as a “throwback” episode.
Season three will follow the same premise as the first two seasons, exploring video tapes taken from the top secret vault of “the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer.” As each tape is played, Creep / Josef / Peachfuzz (pick your favorite name for the creepy killer) exposes his intentions, and his victims are clued in to their possibly fatal mistakes.
The Creep Tapes season three will come to Shudder in September
The Creep Tapes' third season will consist of six brand new episodes. The first two episodes will premiere on Tuesday, September 15 on Shudder and AMC+. After that, two new episodes will debut weekly through Tuesday, September 29.
The first Creep film was released in 2014 at South by Southwest, and has become a cult favorite. It was co-written by Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass (both of whom appear in it), and Brice also directed. In it, Aaron (Brice) is a videographer who has been given the task of video recording a very odd client known as Josef (Duplass).
Josef claims to have an inoperable brain tumor, along with a wife who is about to have their baby. He says he will have died by the time the infant is born, so he has hired Aaron to basically record a daily journal for his child.
Some of his behaviors that Aaron is expected to record are very unsettling – and more unsettling is the creepy wolf mask that he has named “Peachfuzz.” Eventually, Aaron manages to escape, but ultimately, he is killed by Josef. It’s then that we learn Aaron was not Josef’s first victim, nor will he be the last. That’s where the sequel (and the series) comes in. Each 30 minute episode of the series places its focus on one of Josef’s many victims.
