The Underworld Culture Convention combines horror stars with paranormal workshops

Scranton, Pennsylvania, located about two hours north of Philadelphia, is largely known for its labor history, coal mining roots, and the setting of the TV sitcom The Office. The city also has a rich and storied haunted history, so it makes sense that the Underworld Culture Convention is coming there this weekend. The convention will combine well-known horror stars with several paranormal workshops.
The event will run from September 19-20 at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. Here are some highlights.
The Underworld Culture Convention will bring in some horror star power
The Underworld Culture Convention will feature some celebrities well-known in horror circles. There are several stars who will be present, but here are some of the highlights and bigger names.
CJ Graham: C.J. Graham is best known for playing Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Pt. 6: Jason Lives, a favorite in the franchise among fans. Graham will sign autographs and partake in a photo-op dressed as Jason.
Tyler Mane: Tyler Mane has starred in several movies, but to the horror crowd, he's known best for his role as Michael Myers in both of Rob Zombie's Halloween movies. He also played Sabertooth in Fox's X-Men movies.
Tony Moran: Tyler Mane won't be the only actor present who played Michael Myers. Tony Moran will be on hand, and he's one of the actors who played Michael in the original movie. Moran will sign autographs and do an in-costume photo-op.
Junko Bailey: Junko Bailey, who played Kayako in The Grudge, is another celebrity highlight. She'll also be doing an in-costume photo-op.
These are only some of the horror celebrities who will be in attendance. The rest of the guests are featured on the convention website. Additionally, several of the guests will participate in a screening of their movie, with a Q & A and discussion to follow. Please note that these screenings are an additional fee atop of the single ticket or weekend pass.
The Underworld Culture Convention will celebrate all things paranormal with workshops, lectures, and classes
One of the most unique aspects of the Underworld Culture Convention is its incorporation of paranormal classes and workshops, which makes it different than other horror conventions that mostly feature celebrities and vendors. For example, Patti Negri, who is a public speaker, TV personality and author, will host a series of workshops, including one titled "The Occult Magic of Dollcraft" and another, "Your are Magikal: Unleashing Your Power."
Additionally, there will be some hands-on workshops throughout the weekend, including a "Grude Doll Workshop," which entails making your own doll, similar to "Baby the Grude." There's also a Jason mask workshop on Sunday morning.
