Get ready to party, Friday the 13th fans. Jason Lives, the sixth movie in the beloved slasher franchise, turns 40. To celebrate, the Waldorf Estate of Fear in Lehighton, PA, in conjunction with Horror / 365, is throwing a bash called Jason Lives in Hell. The event will be held this weekend, May 1 and May 2, and it will feature celebrity guests, photo ops, vendors, and more.
Additionally, because the Waldorf Estate of Fear is the filming location of Hell House LLC, there will also be celebrities from that franchise on location, signing autographs and partaking in photo ops. It's a fairly jam-packed schedule with varying ticket prices. Here's a breakdown of the guests in attendance, the photo ops, and other events.
Jason Lives guests on hand
The Jason Lives guests that will be in attendance include CJ Graham (Jason Voorhees), Thom Mathews (Tommy Jarvis), Kerry Noonan (camp counselor Paula), and writer/director Tommy McLoughlin. They'll all be signing autographs, though the prices vary.
Additionally, there are two photo ops available for Jason Lives. There's one available featuring the cast and a recreated camp setting. This will take place on Friday from 2-3 pm and then again on Saturday from 11 am-noon. The other photo-op is a recreation of the graveyard scene from the beginning of the movie featuring Thom Mathews and CJ Graham in costume. This will occur on Friday from 7-8 pm and then on Saturday from 4-5 pm. The graveyard photo op costs $125, while the camp/cast photo op costs $200. Additionally, a general admission ticket is required atop of the photo op tickets. A general admission ticket is $25 per day or $40 for the weekend.
Hell House guests on hand
Along with the Jason Lives celebration and events, there's plenty for Hell House LLC fans to enjoy. Here are all of the Hell House guests that will be in attendance.
Danny Bellini (Alex Taylor)
Joe Bandelli (Hell House Clown)
Jared Hacker (Tony)
Adam Schnedier (Mac)
Stephen Cognetti (Writer/director, Friday only)
Baily Moyer (Dead Girl)
Phill Hess (Joey
Jae Rehm (Make-up artist)
Additionally, there will be a photo op with the cast on Friday only from 6-7 pm. The Hell House photo op ticket is $125, and a general admission ticket is also required.
Additional highlights
Along with the vendors, autograph signings, and photo ops, there will be live entertainment, a behind-the-scenes tour of Hell House, an Escape Hell House Experience, Jason Lives trivia, an exclusive dinner with the cast, a Q & A, and a screening of the movie. Please note that most of these other events require additional ticket purchases and are not covered by general admission.
Though Jason Lives was the sixth movie in the franchise, over time, it became a fan favorite and introduced the first version of zombie Jason, who's accidently resurrected by final boy Tommy Jarvis (Mathews) in the opening sequence. The movie borrows heavily from the classic Universal Monster movies in terms of its look and Gothic aesthetic, with some references to the films as well. Additionally, the film used humor and meta commentary before Scream upended the horror genre a decade later.
